Fleeting Moments

I woke up really early today.  It was still dark outside but the sky was starting to lighten.  I got up, fed my kitty, and made tea.  I looked out the window and meditated with my morning gatha, and then I turned off all the lights and sat down to watch the morning begin.  I wanted to savor that first hour after sunrise, when it is so quiet and still and the soft morning light is the most beautiful.  It’s my favorite time of the day.

I sat quietly with my tea, clearing my mind and just absorbing and embracing the moments as they flowed.  An overwhelming peace filled me, and some poetry came up within me.  I wrote it down, and after a while I went outside to take a few pictures.  I felt the impermanence of it all, and I knew the moments and all that I was experiencing within them were fleeting.

The moments of this morning were a treasured gift, a truly beautiful way to begin this new day.

How important it is to be fully present in each moment, to see and experience all that is within them.  That was so clear to me this morning, and all I experienced was made much more valuable to me by that understanding.

through the branches

the tree trunk straight and tall

morning sun shining on it

.

a cloud horizon

across the milky blue sky

filled with a growing light

.

the rays of the sun

falling on everything

nothing is outside

of its soft morning touch

I hope you see and experience all that is within your moments today.
